Ord Zynthar served as anOrdnance/Regional Depotoutpost for theGalactic Republic during thePius Dea Era, a period oftime that lasted between approximately12,000 BBY and11,000 BBY, despite it being located outside the borders of Republicspace. When the Republic launched theTwelfth Pius Dea Crusade against theTeirasan andZarracinespecies in11,660 BBY,Republic forces moved from theMon Gazza system in the Republic's territory to theTeirasa system via Ord Zynthar.[3]

Ord Zynthar was introduced in the2012 reference bookThe Essential Guide to Warfare, authored byJason Fry andPaul R. Urquhart.[3] TheStarWars.comOnline Companion to the2009 reference bookThe Essential Atlas placed the Ord Zyntharsystem, and therefore the world itself, in grid square P-16.[1]
