TheNorthern Polar Command Sector, also known as simply theNorthern PCS, was located in theDeath Star's apex region, and held the combat leadership for thespace station. The Northern PCS was predominantly responsible for the command operations of theDeath Star, and was where daily administrative work was carried out. As such, the Northern PCS was outfitted with various audience halls, briefing rooms, wardrooms, and other essential command areas. Such include theEmperor's tower, which contained theEmperor's throne room; theoverbridge was also found in that area.^[3] The Northern Polar Command Center, along with the rest of the Death Star, was destroyed during theBattle of Yavin by theAlliance to Restore the Republic.^[2]
