Binary loadlifters,^[7] also known asbinary load lifters,^[8]Heavy-lifter droids,^[6] were a type oflabor droids that were used to lift heavy loads. Thebinary programminglanguage of thosedroids was similar to that ofmoisture vaporators.^[7]CLL-M2 binary loadlifters were a model of Binary loadlifter^[9] in theCLL-series,^[10] whileType II loadlifter droids were frauds, being repurposeddemolition droids prone to violence. Late in theClone Wars,Rafa Martez was hired byLokann and hisbusiness partner to build the Type IIloadlifter droids. The work was done by Rafa's sisterTrace and her new friendAhsoka Tano, who eventually realized the danger of the droids. One of the droids went on a rampage throughLevel 1313 after Trace forgot to put arestraining bolt on it before activating it, leading her and Tano to have to chase it down.^[1] Other types of binary loadlifters known as theCCLs were operated inFacility 301G part of theSanthe Shipyards that were secretly owned by theforces ofMorgan Elsbeth.^[5] TheFirst Order used heavy-lifer droids to carry equipment, often with the help ofstormtroopercadets.^[6]
