LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales is a five-partLEGOStar Wars non-canon mini-series that aired onDisney XD. The series retells the story of the live-actionStar Wars films, fromStar Wars: Episode IThe Phantom Menace throughStar Wars: Episode VIReturn of the Jedi, as well as an adaptation of theStar Wars Rebels episode "Droids in Distress," and aClone Wars mission created entirely for the show, all from the perspectives ofC-3PO andR2-D2.[1]

Plot summary[]

LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales began shortly after theBattle of Endor.C-3PO andR2-D2 tell those assembled around them about the story that led them both to the battle. According toThe Hollywood Reporter, "an accidental kidnapping leads to a new adventure that progresses to the re-telling of the saga in the chronological order, starting fromThe Phantom Menace toReturn of the Jedi."[1]

Development[]

The mini-series was announced byThe Hollywood Reporter onFebruary 27,2015. The first episode of the series aired onDisney XD on July 6, 2015 in the lead-up to the release ofStar Wars: Episode VIIThe Force Awakens onDecember 18.[1]
