Kevin James Anderson is a prolific science-fiction author and the author ofThe Jedi Academy Trilogy of books, which told the story ofLuke Skywalker's attempts to begin trainingJedi onYavin 4; and introduced characters such asKyp Durron andAdmiral Daala. He also co-wrote theYoung Jedi Knights series with his wife,Rebecca Moesta. During the writing of his earlyStar Wars novels, he communicated with fans as a member of theFidoNet Star Wars Echo.

Additionally, Anderson contributed to theStar Wars: Tales of the Jedi comic series, and has written numerous short stories.
