Jubnuk moves to protect his master from Luke
Shortly before theBattle of Endor, Jubnuk was present forLuke Skywalker'sarrival atJabba's Palace with the intention of negotiating withJabba in order to freehis friendHan Solo. As Jabba was not interested in Skywalker's proposal, Skywalker usedthe Force to snatchNizuc Bek'sblaster from hisholster, prompting Jubnuk to try and wrestle it out of Skywalker's hand to protect Jabba. The Hutt, however, opened the trapdoor of the room in which they were and Skywalker fell into the pit ofPateesa, theHutt's petrancor.[2]
As being near to Skywalker when the trapdoor was opened, Jubnuk fell into Pateesa's pit despite his attempts to hold onto Jabba's moving throne. The Jedi Knight and theGamorrean then slipped down the slide which led to the pit. After getting up, both saw the door open revealing Pateesa, who had previouslykilled Jabba's dancerOola. Jubnuk, squealing in terror, attempted to climb back up the trapdoor's steep slide to no avail. As his fellow Gamorrean guards laughed at his misfortune, the rancor killed Jubnuk, Skywalker on the other hand, was able to kill the beast and avoid a similar fate, greatly angering Jabba.[2]
One of Jubnuk's hands was stuck in between Pateesa's teeth whenMalakili andGiran mourned the rancor's death.[2]

LEGO[]
In the2022 non-canonvideo gameLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Jubnuk appears as a playable character in the mission "A Plan to Save Han." In the game's adaptation ofReturn of the Jedi, when Jabba hits the switch for Skywalker to fall into rancor pit, nothing happens. As Jabba angrily hits it again, Jubnuk and another Gamorrean jump up and down on the trapdoor beside Skywalker to try and force it open. When the door does eventually open, Jubnuk, Skywalker, and the second Gamorrean all fall into the pit below.[5]
Pateesa then devours the second Gamorrean rather then Jubnuk, who then becomes playable and aids Skywalker in fighting the rancor. Once the rancor is defeated, Skywalker is shown throwingBidlo Kwerve'sskull at Jubnuk, striking the Gamorrean in the head and knocking the guard to the floor as the skull rebounds into the gate switch that closes the gate on Pateesa. The rancor then spits out the Gamorrean it consumed earlier, allowing the guard to flee. Completing the mission then unlocks Jubnuk permenantly in freeplay mode.[5]
