Interrogation droid

Interrogation droids, also referred to asinterrogator droids ortorture droids, weredroids designed to coax sensitive information out of an individual byinflicting extreme pain upon them. Some models, such as theIT-O interrogation droid, usedmind probes to torture their victims.^[2] They often tormented fellow droids as well.^[3][4] Torture droids often had sadistic personalities, seemingly enjoying the suffering they caused others.^[1]

Interrogator droids were a common sight inSeparatistprisons during theClone Wars.^[1][5] They could also be found inImperial military installations during thereign of theGalactic Empire.^[2] These droids also found their way into the hands ofcrime lords such asJabba theHutt, who had a torture chamber located in the bowels ofhispalace.^[4] A torture droid namedJ0-N0 worked for thebounty hunterCad Bane.^[3] Nearly thirtyyears after theBattle of Endor, anew model of interrogator droid was utilized by theFirst Order under the command ofKylo Ren.^[6]
