Informant Protocol
- "In the earliest years of the Empire a program was initiated where civilians could submit tips and snippets of information on Jedi survivors in exchange for a variety of rewards. These reports were directed straight to the Inquisitorius."
- ―Beaumont Kin,The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1]
TheInformant Protocol was a program created during the earlyreign of theGalactic Empire where civilians could submit tips and information onJedi survivors of theGreat Jedi Purge in exchange for various rewards. The reports were directed straight to the Empire'sJedi huntingInquisitorius. A file on the Informant Protocol was stored in "The Inquisitorius" section of theImperial Archives and was cited by thehistorianBeaumont Kin when[1] he[2] mentioned the program in hisbookThe Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1] in35 ABY.[3] Kin noted that while reports in theMid Rim andOuter Rim were probably taken seriously, as Jedi could disappear into obscurity there, it was debated how many reports from theCore Worlds were actually based on anything real. However, Kin believed that the program's existence likely helped foster a sense of civic responsibility within the Empire's population.[1]
