In5 ABY,[3] theNew Republic andGalactic Empire arranged forpeace talks to be held inHanna City on theworld ofChandrila. With the approval ofFleet AdmiralGallius Rax,Grand AdmiralRae Sloane contactedChancellorMon Mothma and Fleet AdmiralAckbar to negotiate peace. However, this was merely a ruse for Rax's planned attack on Chandrila. Before the talks could take place, Rax'sagentWindom Traducier activated the formerAshmead's Lock inmates controller chips, whoinvoluntarily attacked New Republic officials. This turned the New Republic leadership against any idea of ending the Civil War through diplomacy. Disagreeing with Rax's tactics, Sloane and the former Ashmead's LockprisonerBrentin Lore Wexley joined forces to stop Rax, who mustered the remainingImperial forces for ashowdown atJakku.[1]
