High Council holomap room

Description[]

The room was located on the penultimate level of theJedi Temple'sHigh Council Tower, immediately below theHigh Council Chamber. It featured an interior balcony decorated withflower motif mosaics, overlooking a large pit which housed a largeholo-map ofthe galaxy. A small amphitheater allowed a closer view to different areas of the holo-map and an external staircase led to the lower levels where theholoprojector array was located.^[1]

The holomap was used by theJedi Order to locatedisturbances in the Force andareas of unusual Force concentration; as such, it had to be constantly updated based on new information collected in real-time from around the galaxy. To achieve that, it worked in tandem with five powerfulantennae on the top of the High Council tower which received data at different frequencies and sent it to a multi-feed receiver assembly to be fed into the holomap. The receiver, mounted under the floor of the High Council chamber converted the raw data from the antenna into holodata, allowing the holoprojector unit to update the the map whenever new info was discovered.^[1]

To further assist the Jedi in precisely locating hotspots, a series of receiver vanes built into the holomap room walls were configured to convert signals fromhyperspace intorealspace coordinates. Sixsignal eradicators connected to the vanes scrambled enemy attempts to exploit the system to pinpoint the location of Jedi in the field by locking on to their communications with the Temple.^[1]
