Greg Rucka is an author of junior novels andcomic books. He writes for the newStar Warscanon, and previously worked as a comic-book writer for DC Comics.
In2015, Rucka worked on the junior novelSmuggler's Run and the comic miniseriesShattered Empire which are both part of theJourney toStar Wars: The Force Awakens[2] publishing program.Smuggler's Run depictsHan Solo andChewbacca shortly afterStar Wars: Episode IVA New Hope.Shattered Empire follows events that occurred shortly afterStar Wars: Episode VIReturn of the Jedi. Rucka additionally worked on the2015 junior novelBefore the Awakening followsRey,Finn, andPoe Dameron prior to their adventures inStar Wars: Episode VIIThe Force Awakens.[3]
Rucka is know for original works such as theAtticus Kodiak andJad Bell series of novels, the Oni Press comicsWhiteout andQueen & Country, and the Image Comics seriesLazarus. He has writtenDetective Comics,Superman andWonder Woman for DC Comics, and was tasked with reintroducing an updated version of Batwoman into continuity with artist JH Williams, for which they won a GLAAD award. He is aNew York Times bestselling author, and the recipient of numerous Eisner awards, the comic industry's highest accolade.[4]
