Glee Anselm was anocean planet located in theJalor system ofthe galaxy'sMid Rim that was thehomeworld of theAnselmi andNautolanspecies.Star Tours, a tour company, offered vacation tours of Glee Anselm during theClone Wars. During thereign of theGalactic Empire,senators representing theplanet in theImperial Senate were fiercely loyal to the Empire. Glee Anselm was also the homeworld of the criminalTobias Beckett and theJedi MasterKit Fisto.

Description[]

Glee Anselm was aplanet[5] located in theJalor system[3] withinthe galaxy'sMid Rim.[1] The planet's surface was covered inwater, and it had no major landmasses.[3] No light reached the depths of the world'soceans, making theNautolan people evolve to have darkeyes that could see details in the oceans' darkness.[7] The small islands dotting itsoceans heldjungles,mountains,[4]beaches, andgrassy fields.[3]

History[]

According to legend, Glee Anselm used to have a continent with life until it sank to the seabed thousands ofyears before thefall of theGalactic Republic.[3]

Prior to the start of theClone Wars,Grand MasterYoda of theJedi Order helped to organize atest forJedi MasterObi-Wan Kenobi andhisPadawan,Anakin Skywalker, which involved the pair searching for him on Glee Anselm.[3]

In3 BBY, Glee Anselm was one of only forty worlds that still sent representatives to theApprentice Legislature.PrincessLeia Organa ofAlderaan owned a bed made from Glee Anselm hardwoods.[10]

Inhabitants[]

Glee Anselm was the home to twosentientspecies, theAnselmi and Nautolan. The Anselmi lived on land while the Nautolans lived in the water. The Anselmi resented their aquatic cousins, whom the Anselmi referred to as "gill heads," and sought to dominate.[3] The planet was also inhabited byhumans[9] and creatures includinglizard-gulls,whales,[3] and thewooriid.[8]

Glee Anselm was first mentioned in theStar Wars Legendsnovelization andjunior novelization ofStar Wars: Episode IIAttack of the Clones, which were written byR. A. Salvatore andPatricia C. Wrede, respectively, and were both released in2003. The world was confirmed to becanon in theStar Wars: The Clone Wars episode "Children of the Force," in which it was mentioned by Mace Windu and later was shown inhologram in theXanadu Blood'sfuelcomputer.

The Clone Wars team had considered showing Glee Anselm in physical form in the episode: concept art was drawn depicting the Nautolans living in cities on the backs of enormousturtles that surface for breath every few centuries.[12]
