Aspecies offlowering cactus was found on theplanet ofLok. After theBattle of Yavin, during theGalactic Civil War,Nym, the leader of theLok Revenants, orderedRan Machado to oversee the removal of unintended foliage fromNym's Stronghold. The latter therefore recruited a spacer to pull up some flowering cacti and other kinds ofLokkian weeds in the city.[2] After succeeding in the mission, the spacer used the extra weed to feed thekusaks guarding the city:Runt,Bedhead,Blinky,Scarecrow,Slobbers,Troubles,Wart Face,Gargle,Ding andSpeedbump.[3]

Flowering cacti appeared in the2003video gameStar Wars Galaxies, amassively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed bySony Online Entertainment and published byLucasArts,[1] prior to its closure onDecember 15, 2011.[4] Flowering cacti were originally present as random flora on the planet Lok upon the first release of the game.[1] The plant was later included in a quest of the revamped "Nym's Theme Park,"[2] released with the "Game Update 16," onMarch 23,2010.[5]
