A Flare gun
Aflare gun orflare pistol[1] was a device used to launch aflare of light into the air to signal for help when in distress or to notify of the user's location. After theBattle of Alderaan, hundreds ofRepublic troopers used Flare guns to alert theRepublic Navy after the victory over theSith Empire on theplanetAlderaan.[2]
