Description[]
The EnhanceScan was a multipurposeportable scanner manufactured byCryonCorp. It was an improved model of CryonCorp'sLifedetec bioscanner, adding several functions that had not been present in the previous design. The scanner had four different scanner modes;bioscanner,motion sensor,metal detector, and communications scanner. The EnhanceScan's screen displayed data relevant to the specific mode that the scanner was in at the time, and always showed specific locations and movement.[1]
The EnhanceScan incorporated a bioscanner module, capable of detecting life-forms at ranges up to 1,500meters. Templates containing the data of over three hundred different creatures could be pre-loaded into the EnhanceScan, allowing the unit to identify life-forms by comparing its readings to the data stored in the memory banks. In this mode, the display screen would show the shape and vital statistics of any creature detected.[1]
An in-built motion sensor module detected any movement in a five hundred meter radius from the EnhanceScan. The unit could be set as a automated sentry, programmed to sound an alarm when it detected movement. A metal detector with a range of one hundred meters scanned for concentrations of metals and could be configured to search for specific ones.[1]
The communications scanner intercepted allcomlink transmissions that were sent on standard frequencies within a range of threekilometers. The unit itself was incapable of transmitting messages.[1]
The EnhanceScan was powered by six rechargeablepower cells which could provide enough energy for up to tendays of operation. The unit haddataports that allowed the EnhanceScan to be connected to computers,datapads, anddroids for the exchanging of data.[1]
