TheELG-3A blaster pistol, also known as theNaboo royal pistol^[1] or theroyal blaster pistol,^[8] was a model of diplomatic^[4]hold-out blaster pistol manufactured by theSoroSuub Corporation,^[2] and also attributed toMerr-Sonn Munitions, Inc.^[1] TheQueen ofNaboo,Padmé Amidala, used an ELG-3Ablaster pistol during theBattle of Naboo, as did several of herHandmaidens. The compact weapon was designed for easy concealment and came in both a short and extended barrel version.^[2] Two of the blasters with the shortenedbarrels were kept in a secret compartment of theQueen'sthrone in theTheed Royal Palace, which came in useful as last resort weapons.

The ELG-3A was a lightweight, elegant, and functionalhold-out blaster pistol designed for practical use and easy concealment.^[1] It was a small, sleek weapon with a polished chrome finish and a wooden grip,^[5] and firedgreen^[5] or bluebolts, as well as astun setting.^[9] The slim blaster was fired using a snap trigger, which required a firm squeeze to prevent misfires.^[1] Despite being a small blaster, it still packed a punch.^[10]

The ELG-3A became practically a standard accessory fordiplomats andnobles in need of a personal sidearm.Padmé Amidala andher Naboo Royal Handmaidens carried the extended-barrel version,^[1] and utilized the weapons during theBattle of Naboo.^[5] Despite its small size, the ELG-3A packed a punch, and was able to destroy aBX-series droid commando with a headshot despite thedroid'stitanium-reinforcedsteel heavyarmor.

AsSenator ofNaboo, Amidala mainly carried the long-barrel version of the blaster during the period leading up to and during theClone Wars. Amidala wielded an ELG-3A during missions to Naboo,^[11] theCoruscant Underworld,^[12] and when she was under threat ofassassination onAlderaan, getting the jump onbounty hunter Aurra Sing and stunning her with a single shot.^[9] However, when she was attacked by thebounty hunters Chata Hyoki andRobonino, Amidala used the short-barrel model to defend herself.^[13]

Ultimate Star Wars cites the weapon's manufacturer asMerr-Sonn Munitions, Inc., although also credits it as aSoroSuub ELG-3A. InLegends material, the blaster was a SoroSuub spin-off of the Merr-Sonn product, theQ2 hold-out blaster.Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy, released byDorling Kindersley onNovember 19,2024 confirms SoroSuub as the manufacturer. It also confirms that the blaster comes in both a short and extended barrel variation. This rendered the short-barrel model being identified as the Q2 hold-out blaster inGadgets and Gear andBuild the Millennium Falcon 62 as obsolete.
