Darth Vader used this green-paintedEta-2Actis-class light interceptor during his early days as aSith apprentice, replacing theone he lost during theBattle of Coruscant.^[2]

History[]

After leading themassacre on theJedi Temple onCoruscant, the newly anointedDarth Vader flew thisstarfighter from the Temple toPadmé Amidala'sapartment. WithR2-D2 accompanying him, Vader then traveled to the volcanicplanetMustafar to eliminate theSeparatist leaders. The vehicle rested on Mustafar for over a decade, after Vader's battle withObi-Wan Kenobi left him too wounded topilot it off of the planet.^[2]

In3 ABY,^[8] Darth Vader, after escaping from theEye of Webbish Bog with aSith wayfinder, rested upon his old vehicle to recover. Shortly after,Ochi ofBestoon found the wounded Vader and expressed his surprise at Vader's survival.^[9] Fighting and defeating theDroid Crush Pirates of Bestoon before capturing Ochi, Vader repaired the Eta-2 and used thewayfinder to travel to theRed Honeycomb Zone in order to reach the world ofExegol.^[10] Once there, he was attacked by forces of theImperial Navy deployed to stop him, but Vader used his Eta-2 to take out all attackingTIE fighters and encountered asumma-verminoth subspecies. Entering into the Red Zone by flying his Eta-2 into it, Vader experiencedForce visions of the past and possible future before making it through, crashing onto Exegol. There, he and Ochi, who had been inside a pod the Sith Lord attached to the bottom of the fighter, exited on to the planet's surface, where Vader took control of the mind of thesumma-verminoth usingthe Force.^[7]
