Darex Rath was aHumanmale who lived during theGalactic Civil War.[1] In1 ABY,[2] Rath was present on anImperialspace station[1] in theOuter Rim Territories when anImperial-class Star Destroyer captured a passenger freighter on suspicion of harboring criminals.[3] Severalspacers were apprehended and taken to the Imperial space station. The spacers were finally released but the space station was later attacked bypirates. Darex Rath then helped a spacer to escape theDark JediElo Folding and flee the station. Rath recommended the spacer to go toTatooine and seek assistance fromTrehla Keelo inMos Eisley.[1]

Darex Rath was anon-player character in the2003video gameStar Wars Galaxies, amassively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed bySony Online Entertainment and published byLucasArts,[1] prior to its closure onDecember 15,2011.[4] Darex Rath was added to the game when the developers revamped the "New Player Tutorial,"[1] with the release of the "Publish 17," onMay 26,2005. However, Darex Rath was removed alongside with this tutorial when the developers introduced a completelynew tutorial with the release of the "New Game Enhancements," onNovember 15, 2005.[5]

Furthermore, in the gameRuwan Tokai references thedestruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, andStrongholds of Resistance also places the events ofGalaxies'Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in1 ABY. Lastly, whileChapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features theBattle of Hoth—dated to3 ABY byThe New Essential Chronology—the developers havestated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events ofStar Wars Galaxies must span from 0ABY to around 1 ABY.
