TheDac Ballet was a ballet company that shared its name with^[1]Dac, theaquatichomeworld of twosentientspecies: theQuarren andMon Calamari.^[2] In231 BBY,^[3]NihilTempest RunnerLourna Dee wascaptured byRepublicforces andimprisoned on theStarlight Beaconspace station. There, she was interrogated by the station'sHead of Security, the Mon CalamariGhal Tarpfen. By observing Tarpfen's posture, Dee identified her as having once been part of either theMon Calamari Royal Guard or the Dac Ballet, and expressed doubt that Tarpfen danced ballet.^[1] Indeed, Tarpfen had once been a member of the Royal Guard.^[4]

The Dac Ballet was mentioned inThe High Republic: Tempest Runner, a2021 audio drama written byCavan Scott and published as a part of theStar Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's^[5]Phase I.^[6] The spelling of the ballet's name was later confirmed with the release of the audio drama'sscript in2022.^[1]
