Acam slider^[1]—also referred to as asensor slide^[2]—was a type of mechanical component utilized onstarships. A cam slider was installed on theracerMarcus Speedstar'sstarship,^[1] theGalaxy's Glory.^[3] In34 ABY,^[4] as part of Speedstar's preparation for the race on^[1] theplanet^[3]Castilon known as thePlatform Classic, the racer instructed^[1] theResistancespy^[3]Kazuda Xiono—who was helping Speedstar as amechanic—to reorient his ship's cam slider. When Xiono struggled to find the correct tool for the job^[1] as well as which slider to adjust,^[2] Speedstar questioned the sarcastic claim of his brother, the mechanicJarek Yeager, that Xiono was the best mechanic under his employ. Xiono replied by stating that he was in the "top three" of such rankings.^[1]

The cam slider was mentioned in "The Platform Classic,"^[1] the ninth episode of thefirst season of theStar Wars Resistance animated television series which premiered onNovember 25,2018.^[5] It was first identified as a "sensor slide" in the2019 French junior novelYeager's Secret, written byVanessa Rubio-Barreau.^[2]
