In19 BBY, during theClone Wars, abattle was fought between aGalactic RepublicVenator-class Star Destroyercommanded byJedi GeneralChiata, and aSeparatist Alliancedreadnought. Although the battle saw the destruction of the dreadnought, Chiata'sStar Destroyer had sustained heavy damage in the fighting, which caused it tocrash on theplanetZeffo after dropping out ofhyperspace.
However, the crew of theStar Destroyer managed to survive the crash, but the Jedi General was separated from herPadawan,Jedi CommanderMarseph, which forced herclone troopers to search for him. Amid their search, theClone Commander and histroopers receivedOrder 66, which resulted in an attack on Chiata and her Padawan. All the clone troopers werekilled by theJedi, both of whom eventually succumbed to their own wounds.
The battle[]
In19 BBY,[2] during theClone Wars between theGalactic Republic andConfederacy of Independent Systems,Jedi GeneralChiata andherPadawan,Jedi CommanderMarseph, were stationed aboard aVenator-class Star Destroyer alongside aunit ofclone troopers led by aClone Commander. While stationed aboard thevessel, theStar Destroyer had engaged with aSeparatist dreadnought, resulting in heavy damage to the Venator and the destruction of the dreadnought.[1]
Aftermath[]
Chiata's Star Destroyer suffered extensive damage during the battle with the dreadnought and afterward crash landed on theplanetZeffo in theOuter Rim Territories upon exitinghyperspace. In thecrash, Marseph became separated from his master, which forced Chiata'sclonetroopers, including theClone Commander, to search for him.[1]
However, amid their search, the entire Republic unit had received a transmission fromSupreme ChancellorSheev Palpatine, who ordered the Clone Commander to executeOrder 66. As a result, Chiata's unit began to attack the Jedi General and the Padawan, forcing bothJedi to fight off their attackers, resulting in thedeaths of many clone troopers. During the fighting, both Jedi were injured, with Chiata dying and Marseph following as he succumbed to his wounds after burying his master.[1]
