Attack on theExecutor

TheAttack on theExecutor^[9] was an attack launched by theHutt Clan against theImperialSuper Star DestroyerExecutor^[3] in3 ABY^[7] in theJekara system over the^[3]planet^[10]Jekara. The attack began afterLordBokku of theGrand Hutt Council attempted to recover thecarbonite-frozenHan Solo, who had been won by theHutts in anauction hosted byLadyQi'ra ofCrimson Dawn before being turned over to theSith LordDarth Vader by the Council's leader,Jabba Desilijic Tiure, in an attempt to maintain relations between the Empire and the Hutts. Insulted, Bokku had an^[4]armada ofstarships surround theLambda-class T-4a shuttleST-718, which wastransporting Solo back to theExecutor, Vader'sflagship.^[3]

After the Hutts gained control of ST-718 viamagclamps and tried to bring it aboard thewar barge of the Hutt Council, the Empire were able to recover theshuttle and eventually brought it back aboard theExecutor. At the sametime, Vader, who had been chasinghissonLuke Skywalker, instarfighters above Jekara, was informed by ImperialAdmiralFirmus Piett that he had been requested byEmperorSheev Palpatine to end the Hutt threat personally. Vader followed hisMaster's orders and boarded the Hutt's war barge, where hekilled the Council members.^[3]

Whilst this was taking place, thebounty huntersBoba Fett andBeilert Valance boarded theExecutor as part of their own attempts to recover Solo. The pair traversed the ship unnoticed until they were spotted by aKX-series security droid. After killing thedroid, Fett betrayed Valance and threw athermal detonator onto thecyborg, leaving him for dead. Fett eventually made his way to thedetention level where Solo was being held, though he encountered members of theRebel Alliance led byLeia Organa, who were also attempting to recover Solo. Amissile hit the ship, causing the carbonite block containing Solo to be sucked intospace. Fett used hisjetpack to follow Solo to the planet's surface and caught him just he as he entered anocean. With hisbounty secured, Fett returned toJabba's Palace onTatooine to deliver him to Jabba.^[3]

The death of the Hutt Council left Jabba as the sole leader of the Hutt Clan, lost Crimson Dawn valuable allies, but strained the relationship between the Hutts and the Empire,^[3] which Qi'ra took advantage of by sparking aSyndicate War between the criminal factions ofthe galaxy.^[6]
