Astrogation buffer
Theastrogation buffer was a data storage device installed in manyastromech droids. It held a limited number ofhyperspace coordinates, and allowed the droid to plot courses for smaller starships that were not equipped withnav computers. Different buffers held different numbers of jump coordinates, ranging from the single set a stockR1 could hold to theR7's ability to hold fifteen different destinations.
During theGalactic Civil War,Cybot Galactica manufactured the"Lifeline" Astrogation Buffer.[1]
