Rav afterward solidifies an alliance with theSith LadyDarth Maladi, and deposedEmperorRoan Fel prepares to send several of hisImperial Knights on a mission to pursue Skywalker. His daughterMarasiah and fellow Imperial KnightAntares Draco discuss their feelings for one another, and the crew of theMynock arrive at the planetIego to find thehome of their friend "Bantha"Rawk underattack from the criminals ofBlack Sun. They are pursued to Iego by a masked stranger namedAzlyn Rae.
The issue was written byJohn Ostrander and penciled byJan Duursema. Its events conclude an existing storyline while simultaneously beginning to move pieces into position in advance ofLegacy's contribution to theDark Horse Comicscrossover event,Star Wars: Vector. 30,346 copies ofLegacy 23 werereleased to comic shops worldwide onMay 7,2008, which made it Dark Horse's third-highest selling comic of the month. The issue received generally positive feedback across theinternet following its release, and the following month'sLegacy (2006) 24 wrapped upLegacy'sLoyalties story arc. In2009, the comic was included inLegacy's fifth trade paperback,The Hidden Temple, and it was later part of the hardcover releaseStar Wars: Legacy Book 2 in2013.
