One of the few Battle Legionnaires to survive theMission to Norval II, which saw theGalactic Republic defeat the Confederate-alliedMandalorian Protectors, BL-17 later came into the possession of thebounty hunterBoba Fett sometime after theDeclaration of a New Order in19 BBY.
When Fett was approached bySise Fromm to hunt thespeederracing team ofThall Joben,Jord Dusat, andKea Moll onBoonta, thebounty hunter decided to use BL-17 to infiltrate the group by befriending theirprotocol droid,C-3PO. BL-17 succeeded in leading the group into a trap, but before Fett could attack, his true intentions were revealed in a chance encounter with a former acquaintance, thedroidProto One.
