Dancing-girl costumes were a style of performancecostume forfemale dancers that were also worn by some beings who had beenenslaved. They consisted of an ornamentedbronziumchest harness on top with varying garments on bottom, such as alashaa silk skirt withjerbaleatherboots, and they revealed much of the wearer's skin. During theClone Wars, the costumes were worn by manyTwi'lek women in locations where they were enslaved or performed for other beings, includingNal Hutta andZygerria.
When theHuttJabba Desilijic Tiure capturedPrincessLeia Organa of theRebel Alliance athis palace, he forced her to wear a dancing-girl costume and a chain. She strangled him todeath with that chain and then destroyed hissail barge as she escaped. Aholocube recording of Organa killing the Hutt won her the respect of manyNiktos, who dubbed her "the Huttslayer." Later inSenator Organa's life,Rinnrivin Di offered her the footage when she investigated hiscartel. Di failed to learn from Jabba's fate and he, too, waskilled by Organa.(Read more…)
