The187th Battalion was aGrand Army of the Republicinfantrybattalion ofclone troopers that served under thecommand ofJedi GeneralMace Windu duringthe galaxy-spanningClone Wars against theConfederacy of Independent Systems. Windu led thetroopers of the 187th during theBattle of Anaxes, an engagement of theOuter Rim Sieges in19 BBY, during which theRepublic's forces sought to defend the vitalAnaxes shipyards from the Confederacy or otherwise risk compromising their entirereserve fleet.
The battalion defended theplanetAnaxes alongside members of the212th Attack Battalion, the501st Legion, andClone Force 99. The unit was equipped with standardPhase II clone trooper armor withmaroon markings. Ultimately, the Republic emerged victorious in the defense of Anaxes.
