Davidson County Broadcasting’s WLXN Lexington, NC is resurrecting the “Majic” branding used by former sister 94.1 WTHZ (now EMF Broadcasting’s WWLV).
The move completes a relaunch of the Classic Hits format used by WLXN as it drops the “Kool 1440/99.9” moniker and Westwood One Kool Gold network for “Majic 99.9” and Tom Kent’s 24/7 Fun network. WTHZ was known as “Majic 94.1” from 2006 until 2010.
The Davidson County Dispatch reports WLXN will retain the local Max & Ralph morning show hosted by Max McGann and Ralph Shaw from 6-9am.

Should be noted that the new logo for WLXN – much like what WTHZ used when it was “Majic” – is anexact carbon copy of WMJI/105.7 Cleveland’s longtime logo.
In the late 90s, Jacor and CC tried to “franchise” the Majic name and logo on oldies/classic hits stations in small town Ohio and Kentucky stations. Only WYNT/95.9 Marion still uses the name and logo, although that Majic is a straight-up AC outlet.
