They Both Play Tennis
A common interest in tennis is
shared by Alison Burton and
Lieutenant Robert Baker, RANVR, of
Hobart (T), whose engagement, an-
nounced today, will be of wide
interest in two states. As a
Huntingtower schoolgirl, she repre-
sented Victoria in Wilson Cup
matches (interstate junior teams con-
tests) in 1938 and 1939; she was
runner-up in 1937 for the Victorian
junior championship, which she won
in the two succeeding years; and
was runner-up for the Australian
title in 1938 and 1939. She is also
a former university champion. Her
fiance, who was Tasmanian Rhodes
Scholar for 1939 and is a law gradu-
ate of the University of Tasmania,
was a leading tennis player for his
alma mater, which he also repre-
sented in football and athletics.
