APPOINTMENTS.—William A. Brown to be a
clerk in the Colonial Secretary's office, in the
room of Montagu Soilleux, resigned; Hugh H.
Massie, Frank Scarr, Donald S. Wallace, and
Philip H. Scratchley, R.K., to be honorary
commissioners for Queensland in connec
tion with the Melbourne Exhibition ; P.
Sellheim to be police-magistrate at Charters
Towers, in the room of E. Morey, trans
ferred, appointment to take effect from Ist
June ; Edmund Moroy to be returning-officer for
electorate of Townaville ; C. S. Dicken to be
secretary in the office of the Agent-General,
appointment to take effect from Ist
June; Edmund Morey to be police
magistrate at Townsville; J. G. Glover to
be powder magazine keeper on Gympie gold*
field ; P. F. Sellheirn, at present warden of the
Palmer goldfield, to be warden of the Charters
Towers goldfield ; Francis Gill, at present on
leave of absence without salary, to be warden of
the Palmer goldfield, in the room of P. F. Sell
heim, transferred ; M. Armstrong, inspector of
police, to be inspector of brands for the district
of North Kennedy ; A. E. Byrne to be medical
officer at Dalby, in the room of W. A. Concanon,
resigned ; J. S. Jessop to bo auctioneer for all
Government business at Dalby ; E. G. Barton,
clerk in the Government Savinss Bank, to be
assistant clerk in the Stamp Office ; Alexander
M'Nab to be a trustee of the recreation reserves
on Wickham-terrace and Countess-street, Bris
bane ; Peter Jensou to be a member for subdivi
sion No. 2 of division of Haun, in the room of
William Little, resigned.
Tenders.—The Commissioner for Railways in
vites tenders until June 4 for building an engine
aud firemen's cottage, Toowoomba. The Works
Department will receive tenders until June 4 for
building a kitchen and laundry at Woogaroo
Lunatic Asylum. The Department of Public
Instruction will receive tenders until June 18
for fencing and gates at State school, Clifton
homestead ; for new closets, fencing, and repairs
to State school buildings, fences, and gates at
Gympie. Tenders will be received at the Trea
sury until June 12 for repairs to Queen's wharf,
Brisbane.
Divisional Boards.—lt is proclaimed that all
lands reserved respectively for water, camping,
or road metal, shall be and are placed tempo
rarily under the control of the Divisional Board
of the distriot in which the said lands are situ
ated.
Brisbane Municipality.—The proclamation
declaring section No. 27, city of Brisbane, a first*
class section, is rescinded.
New Shire. —Toowong and Middle Ridge,
Drayton, are constituted municipal shires under
the Local Government Act.
New Municipality.—The town of Blackall is
constituted a municipality under the Local
Government Act.
