mony of blessing the church; ..
At the, conclusion' of the, dedication

'Father Gowcn.'dnd subsequently Arch
bishop Duhig delivered an address, tak
ing i'or his text the prayer hi the Old
Testament" for , the dedication of a

tues by Mr. Ashby ;and Mrs. Roberts,
the sanctuary, lamp by Mr. C. W. Phil
lips,' and the, organ, and some of'the :
furniture by the ladies of the comi:
mittee, and he took" the opportunity of
thanking all the generous donors.
In conclusion, he made, an appeal to
release the church from debt, remark- 1
ing that the generosity of the Catholic j
people would show the outside public
thaL the Catholic bhurches . were> not I
buyt by bazaars and art unions.
The collection then tukcii up realised,
over £600, malting a total of otcr
£1500 subscribed- altogether by the
clergy and people.
The ground cost £1450, the building !
of the church .£1050, and the altera- ,
tions to the house on the ground, which
is to be used as a presbytery, £500;"
malting a total of £3uGu, loaving £.lb0Q
to be still paid off.

first week in September. -
