Sharp has attracted interest from Leeds and Doncaster Rovers |
Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp has rejected a move to Burnley, BBC Radio Sheffield understands. The 24-year old held talks at Turf Moor last week after the Blades accepted a bid in the region of £1m. But sources close to the player have revealed that the Sheffield United striker wants to fight for his place at Bramall Lane. "Billy's a Blade and has a desire to succeed at this club," said manager Kevin Blackwell. The Blades had previously turned down a bid in the region of £1m in May from fellow Championship side Doncaster Rovers, where Sharp spent a successful loan spell last season, scoring 15 goals. Blackwell added: "I asked Billy to go and prove himself last season and he did that, so credit to him." Sharp is currently under contract at Bramall Lane for another year, but would be allowed to sign for a new club for free from January.
