ALG-97, Tit-n-Achchel Arch, Sefar High Maze Area. 2.4 meter span by 1.1 meter height (measured). Form the two spires in the oued (wash) described withALG-99, leave the wash and go north. Walk across slickrock and along the reef side to find an access to the maze using a narrow passage with a small shrub inside. Walk through the narrow passage and turn left. Walk for about 250 meters northwest into the maze to the arch, which is located near a rock tower. Tit-n-Achchel means "snake eye" in the Tamahaq language. |  |

From the Castle in the middle of the Avenue (see description forALG-101), leave the Avenue and wal northwest through the corridors of the high maze for some 800 meters to this big arch. There are several hiking options due to the numerous corridors. Henri Lhote (1903-1991) is a french explorer of Tassili-n-Ajjer who found numerous rock engravings and paintings. |  |

There are several hiking options due to the numerous corridors in the area. Taseklout is the Tuareg word to mean "take a rest under the shadow of the rock (in this case an arch) in the hot hours of the day." |  |
