Esme isOscar the Grouch's pet cow, introduced inEpisode 1853 ofSesame Street. She is one of Oscar's few pets who is able to speak coherently.
As she converses withGladys the Cow in the episode, Esme reveals that Grouch cows give sour cream (and sour milk), say "Boo!" instead of "Moo!" and subsist on a diet of weeds and skunk cabbage. She made further appearances inEpisode 1945,1959, and2971 (performed byRick Lyon).
