| dcterms:abstract | - 1960년 4월 19일 학생데모 발생부터 5월 14일까지 주한미군사령부가 시위동향을 비롯해서 시시각각 변하던 상황을 본국 합동참모부(JCS)와 태평양연합사령부에 보낸 보고서이다. 전국 도시의 상황을 잘 보여주며 미군 정보기관(G-2)이 수집한 정보라는 점에서 널리 알려지거나 일반적인 문서에서는 볼 수 없는 사실이 많은 것 같다. 경찰이나 군 관련 사항이 그렇다. 예를 들어 5월 5일 계엄사령부에서 열린 회의에 참석한 육군 방첩대 대장 이소동 준장은 계엄령이 선포된 6개 도시의 경찰에 대한 관할권을 갖기 때문에 그들의 활동을 감독할 것이라고 하였다. 곧이어 그와 참모, 미군 방첩대 연락장교는 계획을 집행하는 회의를 열었다. 헌병도 경찰의 범죄 수사를 감독할 수 있었다. 전남 광주에서는 마산 시위는 공산주의자가 선동하였으며 이승만 대통령을 하야시킨 것을 비난하는 전단이 살포되었다. 군수물자의 하역을 맡은 부산과 인천 부두노동자들의 파업과 태업도 미군에게는 중요한 사건이었으므로 자세히 보고하였다. 4월 19일 오후 2시 국방장관 김정렬은 유엔군사령부에 전화하여 한국군 15사단의 작전권 이양을 요청하였고 유엔군 측에서는 승인을 하였다. 그런데 이 파일의 보고서는 대다수 분량이 적기 때문에 내용은 실질적으로는 빈약하다 (xsd:string)
