- — Ron Weasley[src]
Twelve Fail-Safe Ways to Charm Witches was a sophomoric manual on dating and flirting withwitches. The actual contents of the book were uncertain; however,Ron Weasley remarked that it was "not all aboutwandwork".[1]
History[]
Ron gave a copy of the book to Harry on hisseventeenthbirthday in1997. Ron had previously received his own copy from his brothersFred andGeorge. He received it sometime after early June, possibly sometime in late June, early July.[1] It is unknown when Fred and George bought their copy possibly sometime in 1996 or early 1997.
Contents[]
Harry Potter speculated that there might be an entire chapter devoted to compliments after overhearing Ron praiseHermione Granger's skill at decorating the Burrow for Harry'sseventeenth birthday party. Ron noted that had he had it during his relationship withLavender Brown, he would have known exactly how to get rid of her and how to get things going with Hermione, though he did not mention her directly by name. Ron's comment about how it was not all "about wandwork" inferred some content in relation to sexual seduction.[1]
