Early life[]
He was previously owned by awizard or witch, who treated him cruelly and gave him to theHogwarts kitchens for next to nothing.[1]
Serving Hogwarts[]
According toRita Skeeter,Jacob spoke to him shortly before his expulsion.[2] He was strict when it came to making sure other house-elves and students indetention did their work properly in the kitchens.
He also noted thatBarnaby Lee had "an appetite like aMountain Troll" and Hogwarts kitchens had to increase their sandwich production.[3]
During the1990–1991 school year, he became trapped indoxy eggs in the kitchens during an infestation ofdoxies in thecastle, and he had to be freed byJacob's sibling,Chiara Lobosca andVictor Ketsueki, who also cleared up the doxy infestation.[4]
