Mice to Snuffboxes[4][2] (incantation unknown) was atransforming spell thattransfiguredmice intosnuffboxes. When performed incorrectly, the snuffbox might grow whiskers.[1] Thisspell was taught infirst[1] andthird-year[2]Transfiguration classes atHogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

During the1986–1987 school year at Hogwarts,ProfessorMinerva McGonagall taughtthird-years how to perform this spell in Transfiguration class.[2]
During the1988–1989 school year, Professor McGonagall once again taught third-years this Transfiguration spell, and a few mice managed to get loose.Jacob's sibling andJae Kim helped her find them and tidy up theclassroom.[5]
During the1991–1992 school year, this spell was taught tofirst-years in Transfiguration class, and the practicalend-of-year exam concerned the correct casting of this spell.[1]
