History[]

It is unknown how exactly the Doxies arrived in the Leaky Cauldron, thoughLiz Tuttle speculated that someone had brought them in a suitcase and they had gotten loose. Regardless, they swarmed the Leaky Cauldron and smashed up the place, harassing the patrons and staff.Jacob's sibling and their friends, who were in the pub at the time, left and came up with a plan to deal with the Doxies. They brewed a large amount ofDoxycide and sprayed it everywhere in the pub, causing the Doxies to become immobilised and saving the pub. However, in the chaos, the Doxies had destroyed the items insideJacob's sibling's school trunk, causing them to have to be repaired or replaced. Later,Amos Diggory of theDepartment for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures was called in and was surprised to learn that the infestation had been dealt with by a bunch of Hogwarts students before the Ministry had even gotten wind of it.^[1]
