Exploding Fluid

Exploding Fluid was amagical substance found in thehorn of theErumpent. It caused anything that was impregnated with it to explode. It was highly valued as apotion ingredient, and was listed as a Class BTradeable Material.^[1]

History[]

In the1986–1987 school year, Exploding Fluid was one of the ingredients found on the shelves in thePotions Classroom byJacob's sibling,Pieter Talli, andPenny Haywood.^[3]

On30 December1997, anErumpent horn in theLovegood House was struck by a strayStunning Spell cast byXenophilius Lovegood aimed thetrio, whilst his house was beingambushed byDeath Eaters. This caused the fluid inside to explode, causing significant damage to the dwelling.^[2]

In the2010s, a bottle of Exploding Fluid was carelessly stored inside theBritish Auror Office storage room.^[4]

Behind the scenes[]

• In the handheld versions ofLEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4,Harry Potter has to get past a metal double-door inKnockturn Alley. He is given this Fluid to explode the door by a MysticWizard in exchange for twoscarab beetles.^[5]
