During the1994–1995 school year, they were used byBartemius Crouch Junior (disguised asAlastor Moody) whilst training thetrio onHogwarts exterior, which could be used to destroy walls.[1] They could also be found in theHogwarts greenhouses.[1]
During the1996–1997 school year, they were placed around Hogwarts byFred andGeorge Weasley.[2]
