Esme was born to aMuggle father namedGorman Page, andKaleena Page, who was a witch. She had two brothers and at least one,Daniel Page, was younger than her. Her other brother,Reggie Page, was also aSquib.[3]
She was angered when her father gave her ateddy bear forChristmas when she was seventeen, and took Daniel to go skating, which made them extremely happy.[1]

At some point, her father was involved in illicit activities, and he involved Reggie in it. They were eventually caught by Muggle police, and her mother tried to use her magic to help the two escape, resulting in her father and brother being taken to a Muggle prison and her mother being sentenced toAzkaban for being found guilty of being a member of theNocturnal Order of Tricks and Magical Exhibitions. The incident was put in a Muggle newspaper under the heading "The Bloody Pages". Her younger brother, Daniel was put under her guardianship. He later began attendingHogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[3]
After Daniel went to school, Esme received a Christmas gift from him, aconfidence boosting brew, but she sent it back since knowing him having brewed it was all the confidence-boosting she needed.[5]
Visiting Hogwarts[]

During the2010–2011 school year, she visited Daniel in theHospital Wing at Hogwarts after he had been hurt by someAcromantulas, and had a private conversation withElliot Evers who had rescued Daniel. When Daniel later woke up from a bad dream about his parents, Esme discussed them with him and suggested he be friends with Elliot, from whom he could learn a thing or two.[3]
Kidnapped[]

She was later kidnapped byVictor Gridley and his associates. When her brother paid Gridley another visit inhis caravan upon his request,Mr Pronk showed him Esme while Gridley reminded him of his debt. Daniel had no choice but to sneak Gridley into Hogwarts to get toProfessor Longbottom in order to save Esme. She was eventuallyrescued from the dungeon of Gridley's caravan by her brother and his friends.[3]
Later life[]
In December2010, she wanted to spend New Year's Eve with her boyfriendGriffith. They invited Daniel to celebrate with them but he didn't want to be a third wheel, so he took an early train back to Hogwarts.[4]
Physical description[]
Esme was similar in appearance to her brother Daniel. She had light skin, auburn hair and brown eyes.[3]
