Behind the scenes[]
- InLEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, the Welsh Green is the second dragon seen. It blocks your way by knocking its tail towards the ground. You have to play music on axylophone in the order that thedragon sings to make it fall asleep.
- InHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (video game), it is a Welsh Green that is used to guard theLestrange Vault atGringotts Wizarding Bank instead ofanUkrainian Ironbelly as specified inthe film. Instead of metallic grey as the Ironbelly is, the Welsh Green has become pale because of no sunlight, as it is originally green.
- Unlike the other dragons from theFirst Task which are shown in the 'modern' wyvern design, the Common Welsh Green selected byFleur is depicted in the classic dragon design with four legs.
- In the German translation ofFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,Newt Scamander says that the Common Welsh Green has brown and green eyes instead of eggs.
- Ironically the real Welsh Dragon (theY Ddraig Goch, literally translated as the Red Dragon), which is the national animal of Wales and is universally depicted on all of their flags, is traditionally depicted as red.
