• TheHogwarts Express left London at precisely eleven o'clock in the morning and arrived atHogsmeade Station sometime after nightfall. TheSorting Ceremony took place in theGreat Hall and the school year atHogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry began.^{[2][3][4][5][6][7]}
• 1890: Astudent with a unique ability to manipulateancient magic started studying atHogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry under the tutelage ofEleazar Fig.^[8]
• 1892:Albus Dumbledore andElphias Doge met on their first day at Hogwarts. Dumbledore was believed to be, by the rest of the students, a Muggle-hater, ashis father had been arrested for attacking three youngMuggles; Doge had a pock-marked face and a greenish hue that was left from contractingDragon Pox shortly before arriving at school — they became friends as both felt like outsiders.^[9]
• 1938:Tom Riddle began his education at Hogwarts and was Sorted intoSlytherin.^[10]
• 1984: Among others,Nymphadora Tonks,Charlie Weasley,Ben Copper,Rowan Khanna,Penny Haywood,Merula Snyde and theyounger sibling of expelled studentJacob began their education at Hogwarts.^[11]
• 1991:Harry Potter,Hermione Granger, andRon Weasley began their education at Hogwarts and were Sorted intoGryffindor.^[2]
• 1991:Dudley Dursley was inLondon having his tail removed that was created by magic.^[2]

• 1993:Dementors boarded theHogwarts Express in search for the escapedSirius Black during the trip toHogwarts;Remus Lupin drove them away from Harry Potter, who fainted due to the power of the Dementors.^[4]
• 1994: During the early morning,Amos Diggory called onArthur Weasley to helpAlastor Moody after a disturbance at his house.Bartemius Crouch Jnr (impersonating Moody), who had abducted Moody, claimed he has been attacked by burglars.^[5]
• 1995:Harry Potter metLuna Lovegood on theHogwarts Express.^[12]
• 1996: The first meeting of theSlug Club took place on the Hogwarts Express, with students such as Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, and Neville Longbottom attending. Harry sneaked into Draco Malfoy's compartment and got a Full Body-Bind curse put on him by the latter.Nymphadora Tonks rescued him andSeverus Snape took him in to theStart-of-Term Feast.^[7]
• 1997: MoreDeath Eaters appeared outside12 Grimmauld Place. TheDaily Prophet announced thatSeverus Snape was made Headmaster ofHogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decided toinfiltrate theMinistry of Magic thenext day.Neville Longbottom,Ginny Weasley andLuna Lovegood returned to Hogwarts.^[13]
• 2009:Teddy Lupin began his education at Hogwarts.
• 2011 or2012:Victoire Weasley began her education at Hogwarts.
• 2015:James Sirius Potter began his education at Hogwarts.
• 2017:Albus Potter,Rose Weasley, andScorpius Malfoy began their education at Hogwarts.
• 2019:Lily Luna Potter andHugo Weasley began their education at Hogwarts.
• 2020: Albus and Scorpius escape the Hogwarts Express and head toSt Oswald's Home for Old Witches and Wizards, wereAmos Diggory lives, to tell him about their plan.^[14]
