About stdlib...
We believe in a future in which the web is a preferred environment for numerical computation. To help realize this future, we've built stdlib. stdlib is a standard library, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computation, written in JavaScript (and C) for execution in browsers and in Node.js.
The library is fully decomposable, being architected in such a way that you can swap out and mix and match APIs and functionality to cater to your exact preferences and use cases.
When you use stdlib, you can be absolutely certain that you are using the most thorough, rigorous, well-written, studied, documented, tested, measured, and high-quality code out there.
To join us in bringing numerical computing to the web, get started by checking us out onGitHub, and please considerfinancially supporting stdlib. We greatly appreciate your continued support!
Create aniterator which replaces all values from a providediterator from a start index to an end index with a static value.
npm install @stdlib/iter-fill
Alternatively,
- To load the package in a website via a
scripttag without installation and bundlers, use theES Module available on theesmbranch (seeREADME). - If you are using Deno, visit the
denobranch (seeREADME for usage intructions). - For use in Observable, or in browser/node environments, use theUniversal Module Definition (UMD) build available on the
umdbranch (seeREADME).
Thebranches.md file summarizes the available branches and displays a diagram illustrating their relationships.
To view installation and usage instructions specific to each branch build, be sure to explicitly navigate to the respective README files on each branch, as linked to above.
variterFill=require('@stdlib/iter-fill');
Returns aniterator which replaces all values from a providediterator from abegin index to anend index with a staticvalue.
vararray2iterator=require('@stdlib/array-to-iterator');varit=iterFill(array2iterator([1,2,3,4]),3.14);// returns <Object>varv=it.next().value;// returns 3.14v=it.next().value;// returns 3.14v=it.next().value;// returns 3.14// ...
The returnediterator protocol-compliant object has the following properties:
- next: function which returns aniterator protocol-compliant object containing the next iterated value (if one exists) assigned to a
valueproperty and adoneproperty having abooleanvalue indicating whether theiterator is finished. - return: function which closes aniterator and returns a single (optional) argument in aniterator protocol-compliant object.
By default, the returnediterator replaces/fills a providediterator's first iterated value through aniterator's last iterated value. To specify an alternative start iteration index at which to begin filling (zero-based andinclusive), provide abegin argument.
vararray2iterator=require('@stdlib/array-to-iterator');varit=iterFill(array2iterator([1,2,3,4]),3.14,2);// returns <Object>varv=it.next().value;// returns 1v=it.next().value;// returns 2v=it.next().value;// returns 3.14v=it.next().value;// returns 3.14varbool=it.next().done;// returns true
By default, the returnediterator continues filling until it replaces all of a providediterator's iterated values. To specify an end iteration index at which to stop filling (zero-based andnon-inclusive), provide anend argument.
vararray2iterator=require('@stdlib/array-to-iterator');varit=iterFill(array2iterator([1,2,3,4]),3.14,1,3);// returns <Object>varv=it.next().value;// returns 1v=it.next().value;// returns 3.14v=it.next().value;// returns 3.14v=it.next().value;// returns 4varbool=it.next().done;// returns true
Ifbegin is greater than or equal toend, the returnediterator does not replace any iterated values.
vararray2iterator=require('@stdlib/array-to-iterator');varit=iterFill(array2iterator([1,2,3,4]),3.14,3,1);// returns <Object>varv=it.next().value;// returns 1v=it.next().value;// returns 2v=it.next().value;// returns 3v=it.next().value;// returns 4varbool=it.next().done;// returns true
varrandu=require('@stdlib/random-iter-randu');variterFill=require('@stdlib/iter-fill');// Create a seeded iterator for generating pseudorandom numbers:varrand=randu({'seed':1234,'iter':100});// Create an iterator which replaces a subsequence of 10 generated numbers:varit=iterFill(rand,3.14,10,20);// Perform manual iteration...varr;while(true){r=it.next();if(r.done){break;}console.log(r.value);}
This package is part ofstdlib, a standard library for JavaScript and Node.js, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computing. The library provides a collection of robust, high performance libraries for mathematics, statistics, streams, utilities, and more.
