Configure Skim as follows:

Settings (CMD+') --> Sync:

PDF-Tex Sync Support:Preset: CustomCommand: nvimArguments: --headless -c "VimtexInverseSearch %line '%file'"

Use CMD+SHIFT+Left Click to perform a backward search on the text under the cursor in a Skim instance initiated from neovim.
