This adds debounced version of useEffect and useAsyncEffect. Both hooks are tested in the specs.

Summary of Changes

Hello@aminya, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request significantly enhances therooks library by introducinguseDebouncedEffect anduseDebouncedAsyncEffect. These new hooks offer a powerful way to optimize performance and manage side effects in React components by delaying their execution until a period of inactivity, effectively reducing unnecessary computations or API calls. TheuseDebouncedAsyncEffect is particularly valuable for handling complex asynchronous flows, ensuring data consistency and preventing common issues like race conditions.

Highlights

  • New Debounced Effect Hooks: IntroduceduseDebouncedEffect anduseDebouncedAsyncEffect to provide debounced versions of React'suseEffect for both synchronous and asynchronous operations.
  • Asynchronous Effect Handling:useDebouncedAsyncEffect includes robust logic to manage asynchronous operations, ensuring that only the result from the latest effect call is processed and preventing stale updates or race conditions.
  • Comprehensive Testing: Added extensive test suites for bothuseDebouncedEffect anduseDebouncedAsyncEffect, covering various scenarios such as basic debouncing, rapid dependency changes, unmounting, cleanup functions, andleading/trailing options.
  • Exported Debounce Settings: TheDebounceSettings interface fromuseDebounce.ts is now exported, allowing for consistent type definitions and configuration across related debouncing utilities.

Code Review

This pull request introduces two new debounced hooks, useDebouncedEffect anduseDebouncedAsyncEffect, which are great additions. The implementations are mostly solid and come with a comprehensive set of tests. However, I've identified a potential issue inuseDebouncedAsyncEffect regarding a stalecleanup closure, which could lead to bugs. Additionally, one of the test cases for handling race conditions is flawed and doesn't correctly verify the intended behavior. I've provided detailed feedback and code suggestions to address these points.
