Hossein Fani (حسين فاني), he/him, born inTehran, Iran, 1983, is anAssistant Professor at theSchool of Computer Science,University of Windsor. He has been theteam lead inNSERC Industrial Research Chair on Social Media Analytics andPostdoc Research Fellow atLS3,Toronto Metropolitan University. He works in the broad area ofSocial Information Retrieval (Social IR) with special focus ontemporal analysis. His research concerns usercommunity detection,user interest modelling,information retrieval,text mining, andmachine learning. Hossein publishes in venues such asCIKM andECIR and premier international journals, including Elsevier'sIP&M, ACM'sTOIS, and Wiley'sJASIST. His work has resulted in three patents with USPTO includingUS10,885,131,US11,768,522, andUS12,067,625. He is also a PC member atWSDM,KDD,ACL,NAACL,SIGIR,CIKM, andECIR.

Hossein believes inOpen Access principles. He applies a range of practices through which the hiscourse andresearch material will be accessible online in a public repo with reduced and/or no copyright, free of cost or other access barriers for the purpose of publicly peer review and reuse.
