Read the Docs of DesignPatternsPHPorDownload as PDF/Epub

This is a collection of known design patterns and some sample code how to implement them in PHP. Every pattern has a small list of examples (most of them from Zend Framework, Symfony2 or Doctrine2 as I'm most familiar with this software).

I think the problem with patterns is that often people do know them but don't know when to apply which.

You should look at and run the tests to see what happens in the example.To do this, you should install dependencies withComposer first:

$ composer install

Read more about how to install and useComposer on your local machinehere.

To run the tests usephpunit:

$ ./vendor/bin/phpunit

You can optionally run tests usingDocker for Mac orWindows or native one forLinux.Just run:

$ docker-compose up

To only install the dependencies, usedocker-compose like this:

$ docker-compose run composer install
