This is a 34 keys layout using ZMK. I use it with most of my lowprofile keyboards. The keyboards are 5 columns, 3 rows and 2thumb keys.

Use both hands instead of contortions. While multi-keys shortcutsare available on same hand as an option, they aren’t a must.

Avoid home row modifiers. WhileIGNORE_MOD_TAP_INTERRUPT didreduce false triggering of modifiers, it was none zero falsetriggering which required lot of timing tweaks. I would like to figure out a way to have a dedicated layer forsymbols. Currently, symbol and numbers are same layer and useSHIFT for a lot of the symbols. I would like to have a dedicatedsymbols layer so I don’t have to press two keys - layer triggerand SHIFT.

Since I am getting used to pressing the OSM-SHIFT and then pressingthe next key instead of holding SHIFT and next key, I no longer feelthe need to have the left and right shift keys in the base layer. Iam using OSM-CMD for the freed up space. I like havingCMD in thebase layer since it makes many shortcuts accessible. I don’t needto have dedicated keys for undo, cut, copy and paste.

I am not able to use combo keys with horizontal adjacent keysbecause of the column stagger. Might experiment with combos basedon vertical adjacent keys in future.
